Principal's Message

CGE Families and Friends, Welcome to 2018!

Don’t you just love our Minnesota winter weather? Brrrrrrr..... Included again in this newsletter is the weather related school closing information, just in case! Also, please remember we will have outdoor recess every day unless the wind chill/temperature is -10 degrees or below. It is very important that every child comes to school wearing winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats and mittens. If you need assistance with any of these clothing items, please let us know. Also, please be sure to clearly label the items with your child’s name. Thank you.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner on February 8th and 15th. Parents will, once again, schedule their conference time online. You will be receiving sign up information in the near future. If you have questions or concerns about conferences, please check with your child’s classroom teacher. Specialists and I are available on those evenings as well. We look forward to seeing you!

Happy New Year!

Theresa Blume-Thole Principal

I Love to Read Kickoff – "Winter Olympics!”

We will be having an 'I Love to Read' kickoff this year with the theme “Winter Olympics!” More specific details will follow in the New Year. Anticipate the Reading Challenge to run from mid-February to mid-March with a big Olympic Opening Ceremony and weekly challenges for reading and family engagement activities. Mrs. Galbus and Mrs. Gamache will keep track of all the readers and your child’s efforts will be recorded through Olympic Rings that are awarded after each weekly challenge.

Weather Related School Closings

District school delays or closing messages will be on WCCO TV, KSTP TV, Fox 9 TV, and KARE 11 TV.

Watch for South Washington County Schools, NOT individual school names! You will also find information posted on the main page of the district web site at www.sowashco.org and on district cable TV. With our Blackboard Connects system you will receive an automated phone call with school closing information should it need to be cancelled or delayed.

Please do not call individual schools for information on emergency closings.
